Progressive Image Proves Value Of Local Production And Service

Having something done cheaper does not mean having it done better. Progressive Image demonstrates the advantages of American know-how, quality and service to customers throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

For example, one of Progressive Image’s longtime customers uses very specific computer interface cables for creating complex computer systems inside medical equipment. Some of the largest healthcare equipment manufacturers in the field rely on this company’s products. Over time, it had steadily moved cable business from Progressive to companies in China based on cost considerations.

But just as steadily, that work has begun to flow back over the last 12 months.

“China is not delivering on time, they have quality issues,” said Brad Vogl, co-owner of Progressive Image. “If [the manufacturer needs] to make a design change, they’re told by their facility in China, it’s already in production and it’s going to be shipped as-is.”

So when the manufacturer asked Progressive again to quote on cables, matching price was not the directive.

“They need this product on time, and we can deliver it the same day,” Vogl said. In fact, it’s not unusual for Progressive to finish a job at 10 a.m. and have it in the customer’s hands by the middle of the afternoon. That dedication and personal commitment are differentiators for a local provider such as Progressive.

“Customers have a high level of trust that you really are going to be an extension of their own business,” Vogl said. “That you are going to meet their quality standards, their production requirements. There’s a personality thing to it too, getting along and understanding what each one needs.”
